School is Over!

picture from here

I really enjoyed this class overall! It was a fun experience, and I'm glad they make a technology class! I learned a lot of things while in this classroom. I learned how to make my essays more professional. I learned how to correctly use Microsoft programs like Excel and Word. I also learned how fun writing a blog could be. I didn't have anything in this class that I really disliked, but one thing I loved doing was the Excel project. It was really interesting making block pictures and making directions for someone else to make them. I love doing pixel art, so I really enjoyed that project. Overall this was a really fun class! As for the changing, I don't think you should change anything! I like this class the way it is. If you read this, I'm sorry for not being the best at following directions. I tend to go into my own little world at times, and I don't listen that often. I apologize. I really did like this class, though, and I am glad to have had you as a teacher!

Summer

picture from here

Next week on Wednesday, May 22, it will be the last day of school! Everyone is excited, and we just can't wait to enjoy summer! Of course, I will miss all of my friends and all of the people I met this year, but I will enjoy making new friends and meeting new people in 8th grade! My plans for the summer are to stay up late every night to enjoy a nice game of zombies with my guy-friends! We play Mob of the Dead on Black Ops 2. I am a nerd... I am most excited about getting to sleep in this summer! I HATE getting up early! It sucks! I will also enjoy spending time with my friends over the summer! I plan to have Drew and Courtney over most of summer break, though. I consider them to be my most best of friends. They have helped me so much throughout the year, and they also have helped me cope with a lot of things I would have probably broken down over. They help me keep my sanity in check. Last summer, we didn't go anywhere special for summer vacation. We stayed at home and watched television or played video games. I hope to go to Six Flags this summer with my friends and family! It would be so much fun! The last day of school is going to be amazing, and it is going to open up a door to the best summer vacation ever!

The Curse

picture from here

There is a curse that follows and haunts anyone that dares open this chest. The curse will haunt you for all eternity if opened without permission. The curse is terrible and will change your life forever. Every time you walk out of your house, a clown walks up to you and sprays you with a giant, water-squirting flower. You can't have cereal anymore because every time you pour cereal, pink, polka-dotted turtles come out instead of cereal. No one can live without the most important meal of the day! You think that's it? Every time you take a bath, Kentucky Fried Chicken's gravy comes out instead of your nice, crystal-clear water. I don't think you will make any friends if you smell like mash potatoes. Every day you wake up in the morning, there will be a giant word posted on your wall. If you say or think about that word any time of the day, spiders will jump out of your hair and onto the person you are talking to. Your dreams will be haunted every starry night by flying pigs with bazookas. Who said pigs couldn't carry a rocket launcher AND fly?! I warn you now. Many bad things will come from opening this forbidden chest. You need permission from a turtle that lives in Narnia. Good luck and stay away!

Wonderland

picture from here

There are seven identical doors in front of me, and a voice from above says, "These seven doors lead to seven places: Narnia, Neverland, Wonderland, Hogwarts, Camelot, Middle Earth, and Westeros." If I had to choose a door, I would choose to go to Wonderland. In Wonderland, it seems that a lot of your dreams would come true. It would seem that every twist and turn the mystical world gives you leads you into a whole new adventure. I would be able to have tea parties with the Mad Hatter and the rabbit. I would be able to talk to animals and objects a like. It would be quite the experience. The whole world of Wonderland is a magical place, and Alice would definitely know that. The best part about Wonderland is that you can exit and enter with ease. I could drift off to sleep, and I would instantly be in my own little world. No one would know about it but me. I guess since it's my own little world, I would have to be the hero. I would have to fight evil, and I would have to help the people that reside in my own world!

Crushes

picture from here

Ah, middle school. The time in a teenagers life where people start liking other people, and they start getting boyfriends and girlfriends. I think it's stupid to have a significant other at the young age of 13. It's quite stupid. I do have a boyfriend, but I don't do what a lot of my friends do. They say, "If he breaks up with me, MY LIFE IS OVER!" No, your life is not over. You're 13. Life goes on, and you move on with it! And when my friends say they "love" him or her, I just kind of say, "That's so sweet!" and move on. In my opinion, teenagers and even people in their 20's don't really understand what love is. I don't think they really grasp it. Yes, you do like him a lot, but you haven't shared experiences with him or her that really bond you together as one. Some people in my grade say, "We're going to be together forever!" Two weeks later, they break up! I say, "I told you so," and I move on with my life. I have a friend that wrote a life story about himself. He explains how he has had the not so greatest childhood. I can understand that. I didn't have the greatest either, but he explains how he loved a girl. He says that when hey broke up, he wanted to kill himself, and he tried multiple times. That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my entire life.

Super Powers

If I could have any super power in the world, it would be the power to control time! I would have the ability to stop, rewind, and fast forward my life. If I got a bad grade on a test, I could rewind until just before the test, so I get a good grade! And with the ability to freeze time, I could just press pause on the world and walk around. I could fast forward my life to see how a decision plans out, and if the decision was worth it. It's is amazing what people could to with the ability to control all time, but if it falls into the wrong hands, it could be extremely dangerous. That's why with every super power, comes a secret identity and your path of good and evil! I would be good, and I would help the people in my town with my super power. I don't exactly know how, but I will find a way! And my secret identity would be "The Time Controller". It would be awesome, and I would get a lot of medals for helping the people in my town! I could stop a war from happening, and I could see the future! It's just appalling what people can do with a super human ability. And it would be very interesting to see what path people would choose. Your best friend could choose the path of evil right under your nose. It's just fascinating! Isn't it?

The Length of Life

picture from here

This picture reminds of of length. Not the length of the Empire State Building or how tall you are, but the length of your life. Life is precious, and this tape measure shows just how long it could be, or how short it could be. What matters most is how you live it! Go out! Do fun things you didn't think were possible. Don't stay in your house wasting away on an old sofa expecting things to change. Why don't you go sky diving or go rock climbing. You could even go to a different country for a few weeks. It doesn't matter how long your life is if you do it RIGHT! If you're too young to do these things, plan them out. Make your life an adventure. If  I only lived to be 30, I would die happy. I would die happy because I know I lived my life to the fullest. Well, hopefully I did. I have a plan for my life. After college I'm going to go ALL around the world in search for fun things to do. I will be the happiest woman on Earth, and I won't be afraid to die. So don't worry if your tape measure isn't all that long. Just make sure you use it wisely and have fun.

Video Game Addiction

picture from here

I have...a problem. I am addicted to video games. I spend a lot of my time playing them, reading about them, watching videos on them, and ordering the video games that will come out later this year. I love them, and I base a lot of my life on them. When I find a video game I really enjoy, I spend almost 80 hours playing the game. I have played the game "Fallout 3" for more than 80 hours, and I'm still not finished with the game. I do every quest, and I try to get every achievement. It may sound like it, but I don't let video games consume my life. I still do all of my work, spend time with family and friends, read, and write. I don't play them 24/7 like people may think. They have just been a big part of my life. I grew up with them, and they continue to help me pave my future. They help me make critical decisions faster than I normally would, and they help my brain work faster and solve more problems. If all video games were to just cease to exist, I would probably go crazy. Of course I would get over it, but seeing my childhood and all the memories that came with it disappear, is no fun. That's why I love video games.

Stored Memory

picture from here

If I could bottle up a memory and open it whenever I wanted, I would bottle up the memory of my mom marrying my dad. My mother has went through a lot to find the man of her dreams, and she has put me through a lot finding him, but when she did find him, he was the best dad I could ask for. He always makes me laugh and smile, and it makes me even more happy when I see him make my mom happy. I would open this memory every time I felt sad or lonely to reassure myself that I'm not alone because I would always have my lovely mom and dad. If I was really sad, I would grab the bottle holding this memory and pull the cork out. The memory would engulf me in a vast amount of happiness. The smell of the food my grandma cooked would peak my senses, and I would automatically remember the words my mother said to my father, "I do." I would realize that even if I'm sad, I will always have a mom and a wonderful father to brighten up my day.

Stress

Since I have a lot of homework this school year, I have a lot of stuff put on my shoulders. I deal with a lot of stress on a day-to-day basis, so I have come up with ways to help. When I am really stressed about something, I take a deep breath and try to calm done. Once I am calm, I put on my head phones and listen to my favorite songs. Sometimes I even drift off to sleep, and wake up feeling refreshed and fully awake. I don't recommend always doing this. Make sure you do your work first, so you don't get a H.O.T. sheet for that missing assignment. If you like to write, I also suggest writing about your feelings or problems that you might have. Keeping a journal helps you because you can get a lot of things off your chest without telling someone. My whole life I have gotten straight A's, so my parents expect me to always get straight A's. That can also be stressful but don't worry. Do your best. That's what I do. I hope this helped you.

Technology Changes the World

picture from here

How has technology changed the world? Is it good or bad? Has this changed affected humans' lives completely? I will be answering all these questions in this blog post. Mrs. DeBolt assigned me a picture to write about. The people on the the left have no devices or pieces of technology, but the people on the right seem to be recording the event with every piece of technology known to man. The time difference is only a few years. The world has been largely impacted by the advancement of technology. However, this isn't always a good thing.

Mrs. DeBolt

Dear Mrs. DeBolt:

My name is Shelby Harrison and I am 13 years old. I am very shy, and I tend to keep to myself most of the time. I have a close group of friends that I hang out with, but most of the time, I like being alone. My hobbies include writing, reading, listening to music, drawing, and playing video games. Out of all of those things, I probably listen to music and play video game the most. I mostly listen to the genres indie-rock, dubstep, and metal, but I absolutely despise country music. My favorite bands/artists are Modest Mouse, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Death Cab for Cutie, and, on occasion, Eminem. As for playing video games, my favorites are Minecraft, Black Ops 2, Far Cry 3, Halo 4, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and much more.

I love helping people and animals. My role model is Steve Irwin because he is just cool. He wrestled with crocodiles! He also loved helping animals and being around them, while making people laugh and smile. I just think that's amazing. When he died in 2006, I cried for 3 days straight. I would not come out of my room, but like Steve Irwin, I have a strong feeling towards animals. I love caring for them, helping them, and I just love being around them. When I am older, I want to be a vet or a doctor. I want to continue to help animals and people while making them happy.

As for technology, I love it with a passion. I love being on my computer, and I just love working with technology in general. I am a nerd when it comes to stuff like this. It may seem sad, but technology is probably one of my best friends. I am not the best at typing, though. I am very slow when I have to use the home row keys. Other than that, I am very fast when I use my own method of typing. I have been waiting for  this class for 3 quarters now. I love this class so much because I am actually good at it, and I really do enjoy it. Thank you for teaching such an awesome class.

Sincerely,
Shelby Harrison

The Things I Learned

Now its over as technology has ended at the end of the third quarter. It was an experience ride I won't forget as I have learned a lot about computers. Some of the things that I have learned is typing faster, how to use the word programs, and how to make my own blogs. This class has been some what of a surprise as I thought we would be doing stuff totally different than I imagined. Another thing that I have learned is how to follow directions to a project correcting something in order to get it typed right. I just want to say goodbye.

Playstation 4 Is On Its Way

The time has come as the new generation of gaming is evolving in to something totally amazing, as the PlayStation is coming this year with the top of the line hardware with a new GPU and an all new prossesor. The one thing I can't wait for is the all new remote play for the PlayStation Vita as every game will be remote play ready. Also the amazing all new controller that it will come with is going to replace the old PS3 Dual shock controller, while beasting it up with a touch screen on the front of the controller. While it is going to come out later this year I just look forward to it everyday. The one good thing that I know it should be the top of the line considering it will be from Sony Entertainment.

MW3 VS Block Ops 2

Okay, today I want to talk about the difference between Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2. The reason I want to talk about these two games is because I love the Call of Duty series and I just want to say that I personally I like MW3 better. The reason I like it better is because the Black Ops 2 multiplayer is just not the same as the amazing Modern Warfare 3 Online game play. MW3 will always be my favorite Call of Duty game.

Which shall you choose

OK now, there are seven doors that lead to seven places: Narnia, Never land  Wonderland, Hogwarts, Camelot, Middle Earth, and Westeros. If one day there were seven doors that I could choose one I'd probably choose Narnia because it would just be amazing to see real life beast and talking animals. Here I am, here I go I walk through the doors and it turns out that Narnia was taken over and every body was dead and that I was next!

They Took Everything Except One Odd Thing

If there was a day when I was gone from my house and then I came back to see everything was gone except one odd thing It would be like the end of the world. The reason it would be like the end of the world is because I have so many things that I have work so hard for, but to come back and have one thing still there that was like meaningless to me would be so dreadful.

The PS Vita

The PS Vita is one of my most prized possessions. The PS Vita is a hand held console that has the graphics of a PlayStation 3 and it might be hard to believe, but trust me I have one and it is just amazing how you don't have to caring the big consoles. All you really have to do is go out to a store and by the best hand held console to this day. The reason I recommend this hand held is because I always have to my grandmas so I take it up there so I have something to play with, because I'm not a kid and play baby toys now get real.

My Opinion On School

picture from here
The thing about school is that you never really know if you'll have a bad day or good day. The thing that bothers me is that I just never really know when something fun at school will really happen. Let me say that last year was fun with advisory, but now we just have fun during lunch for like 10 minutes. I mean that is like hardly any time at all to do something fun. I just wish we could have more time to have fun.

The Memory That Was Never Forgotten

If one day there was a bottle that could hold in all your memories I would go out and buy one right away. The reason I would by it right away is because I have had some amazing memories I would never want to forget. Also there are some things that I hate to remember about and would put them in the bottle and throw them in a river. The one thing that I would bottle up for protection so I could see it again would be when I got my favorite dog Jasmon.

What!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't even really notice that we had school on Veterans Day, but I don't get it why would we not  have school on Martin Luther King. I man they are both important days so why not have both days off. The reason I'm saying this is because what if on Veterans Day I have a relative who has fought in a war and I hardly get to see him. That is why I think we should have both days of school off instead of just Martin Luther King Day.

Child left unadended

A child has been left in a running SUV and then found a mile away unharmed. Even though it was the mothers fault the police say they will not press charges as she said she was coming right back then the car and her dauter were gone.
Leaving your baby in a hot car is bad. So is leaving it in a running one.

Star Wars Yeah!

Mrs. Debolt
1717 W. Main St.
Festus, MO 63028

Dear Mrs. Debolt:

I  am the youngest in my family with having an older brother and an older sister as well and there names are Tyler and Kayla. As for my parents my moms name is Trina and my dads name is Ken. I love sports including baseball, football, and basketball. There is just one thing I like more than sports and I do it everyday; it's video games.

Another thing I want to tell you about is what I do twice a week. The thing that I do is going to church, which  I go with my parents and now my brother as he moved back with me. I usually go up to south county at Twin Rivers Worship Center on Sundays and on Wednesdays I go to Faith. I would say I like Twin Rivers just a bit better.

Now on the computer I would say I am very good at using it except the keyboard , but as you know I'm practicing. One thing that I am good at is my skill to know where each key is at on the keyboard. There is just one other thing that i'm good at on the computer and that is how to help build a computer. Other than that I really don't know what else i'm good at.

Sincerely,

Trevor Waller

Rail Road

I saw a picture today of a track for a train and it has just brought back so many memories. One of my first memories was back then thinking about the underground rail road as it reminded me of traveling as Harriet Tubman ran away as a slave as trains take you places on tracks.

My Brother

Hi, once again I just wanted to share a few things. One thing about me is me and my brother. The reason i'm saying this is because he has been gone for five months living with my uncle. He has finally came back  in to live down in Herculaneum with me and my parents.
