Dear Mrs. DeBolt:
My name is Shelby Harrison and I am 13 years old. I am very shy, and I tend to keep to myself most of the time. I have a close group of friends that I hang out with, but most of the time, I like being alone. My hobbies include writing, reading, listening to music, drawing, and playing video games. Out of all of those things, I probably listen to music and play video game the most. I mostly listen to the genres indie-rock, dubstep, and metal, but I absolutely despise country music. My favorite bands/artists are Modest Mouse, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Death Cab for Cutie, and, on occasion, Eminem. As for playing video games, my favorites are Minecraft, Black Ops 2, Far Cry 3, Halo 4, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and much more.
I love helping people and animals. My role model is Steve Irwin because he is just cool. He wrestled with crocodiles! He also loved helping animals and being around them, while making people laugh and smile. I just think that's amazing. When he died in 2006, I cried for 3 days straight. I would not come out of my room, but like Steve Irwin, I have a strong feeling towards animals. I love caring for them, helping them, and I just love being around them. When I am older, I want to be a vet or a doctor. I want to continue to help animals and people while making them happy.
As for technology, I love it with a passion. I love being on my computer, and I just love working with technology in general. I am a nerd when it comes to stuff like this. It may seem sad, but technology is probably one of my best friends. I am not the best at typing, though. I am very slow when I have to use the home row keys. Other than that, I am very fast when I use my own method of typing. I have been waiting for this class for 3 quarters now. I love this class so much because I am actually good at it, and I really do enjoy it. Thank you for teaching such an awesome class.
Sincerely,
Shelby Harrison
